 केंद्र सरकार ने राज्यों को जीएसटी मुआवजा भुगतान की 9वीं किस्त जारी की है। यह किस्त 6,000 करोड़ रुपये की है। अब तक, राज्यों और केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों को कुल 1.1 लाख करोड़ रुपये में से 54,000 करोड़ रुपये प्राप्त हुए हैं। इस वित्तीय वर्ष में  केंद्र सरकार 1.1 लाख करोड़ रुपये वितरित करेगी। जीएसटी की कमी के लिए उधार लेने के विकल्प 1 के तहत, केंद्र सरकार एक विशेष विंडो के तहत धनराशि उधार लेती है और फिर इसे राज्यों को प्रदान करती है। इस हालिया ऋण किश्त के लिए ब्याज दर 5.15% है। अब तक, पूरे उधार के लिए औसत ब्याज़ दर 4.74% है। साप्ताहिक किस्त के इस राउंड में, तीन राज्यों को 5,516.6 करोड़ रुपये प्रदान किए गए, जबकि दिल्ली, पुदुचेरी और जम्मू-कश्मीर को  483.4 करोड़ रुपये प्रदान किये गये। 5 राज्यों – नागालैंड, अरुणाचल प्रदेश, मिजोरम, मणिपुर और सिक्किम में जीएसटी लागू होने के बाद राजस्व में अंतर नहीं आया है।

ISRO Chairman Dr. K. Sivan   inaugurated   Yuvika (Yuva VIgyani KAryakram) 2019 , ISRO's Young Scientist Programme, at   Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR , Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.  As many as 110 teenagers are participating in the YUVIKA 2019. It is a two-week summer vacation residential training program which will be conducted by ISRO from 13 May to 26 May 2019.   They are the first batch of young scientists of   Yuvika (Yuva Vigyani Karyakram)   that the   Indian Space Research Organisation   plans to hold every year. The chosen Class 9 students will spend the time visiting four centers of ISRO.   It was launched by ISRO in tune with the Centre governments vision of   Jai Vigyan, Jai Anusandhan.   This is the first time it is being held. Scientists from Stanford University,   Shanhui Fan   along with Masashi Ono have demonstrated for the first time that it is possible to produce a measurable amount of electricity in an infrared photodiode from the coldness of the universe.The infrared semiconductor uses the temperature difference between Space and Earth to produce the electricity.   The study was published in a journal named  Applied Physics Letters.   The new device has generated about 64 nano watts per square meter.   According to the theoretical calculations, the device can generate almost 4 watts per square meter, roughly one million times what practically generated.   In the new technology, the negative illumination effect allows electrical energy to be harvested as heat leaves a surface.

An asteroid 200 feet   wide just plowed into a simulated   New York City , sent there by NASA as part of an exercise to study what might happen if astronomers found   a giant space rock heading toward Earth.   NASA scientists have revealed the outcomes of its asteroid impact drill where they simulated an asteroid heading towards Denver, US. The world's space powers collaborated to hit and deflect the 180-meter-wide asteroid. However, a 60-metre chunk broke off and hit New York City at 69,000 kmph destroying everything in a 15-km radius as political disagreements failed in nuking the rock.   If the collision had been real, the city would have been hit with a force 1,000 times more powerful than the nuclear bomb dropped on Hiroshima, leveling buildings from Central Park to lower Manhattan and causing up to 1.3 million deaths.

11 May 2019 Current Affairs:   Reliance Communications (RCom)   on 8th May informed the stock exchanges that the administration of the corporate debtor would be taken over by the   interim resolution professional (RP)   and the   corporate insolvency resolution process (CIRP)   would resume, following the   National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT)   directive.    The National Company Law Tribunal allowed a consortium   of 31 banks , led by SBI, to form a   committee of creditors.   As per the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, the resolution process has to be completed within 270 days.
