भारत संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद (UNSC) की तीन महत्वपूर्ण समितियों की अध्यक्षता करेगा। इसकी सूचना संयुक्त राष्ट्र में भारत के राजदूत टी.एस. तिरुमूर्ती ने दी। भारत जिन तीन समितियों की अध्यक्षता करेगा, वे हैं – तालिबान प्रतिबंध समिति, लीबिया प्रतिबंध समिति और आतंकवाद निरोधी समिति। तालिबान प्रतिबंध समिति भारत के लिए प्राथमिकता रही है। इस समिति का अध्यक्ष होने से भारत को अफगानिस्तान में आतंकवादियों और उनके प्रायोजकों पर ध्यान केंद्रित करने में मदद मिलेगी। इस समिति को 1988 की प्रतिबंध समिति (1988 Sanctions Committee) के रूप में भी जाना जाता है। लीबिया प्रतिबंध समिति प्रतिबंधों को लागू करती है, इसमें संपत्ति फ्रीज, लीबिया पर दो तरफ़ा हथियार प्रतिबन्ध, यात्रा प्रतिबंध इत्यादि शामिल हैं। भारत वर्ष 2022 में आतंकवाद निरोधी समिति की अध्यक्षता करेगा। इस समिति का गठन सितंबर 2001 में न्यूयॉर्क में 9/11 आतंकवादी हमले के बाद किया गया था। इससे पहले, भारत ने वर्ष 2011-12 में भी इस समिति की अध्यक्षता की थी। संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद सबसे शक्तिशाली और संयुक्त राष्ट्र के छह प्रमुख अंगों में से एक है।...

चीन के उद्योगपति झोंग शानशान भारत के मुकेश अम्बानी को पछाड़ कर एशिया के सबसे धनी व्यक्ति बन गये हैं। झोंग शानशान चीन की सबसे बड़ी पेय कंपनी नोंगफू स्प्रिंग (Nongfu Spring) के संस्थापक और अध्यक्ष हैं। नोंगफू स्प्रिंग कंपनी बोतलबंद पानी प्रदान करती है। हाल ही में ब्लूमबर्ग बिलियनेयर्स इंडेक्स जारी किया गया था। इस इंडेक्स में विश्व के 500 सबसे धनी लोगों की सूची जारी की गयी है। इस सूचकांक के अनुसार, झोंग शानशान 10वे  सबसे अमीर अरबपति हैं, जबकि मुकेश अंबानी 11वें स्थान पर फिसल गये हैं। फिलहाल, झोंग शानशान की कुल संपत्ति 77.8 बिलियन डॉलर है। पिछले साल उनकी संपत्ति 70.9 बिलियन डॉलर थी। वर्तमान में मुकेश अंबानी की कुल संपत्ति $76.7 बिलियन डॉलर है। मौजूदा समय में अमेजन के संस्थापक जेफ बेजोस दुनिया के सबसे अमीर व्यक्ति हैं। बेजोस के पीछे दूसरे स्थान पर टेस्ला और स्पेस एक्स के एलोन मस्क हैं, जबकि तीसरे स्थान पर माइक्रोसॉफ्ट के संस्थापक बिल गेट्स हैं।

केन्द्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्री डॉ. हर्षवर्धन ने निमोनिया के खिलाफ भारत का पहला स्वदेशी टीका लांच किया। इस टीके का निर्माण सीरम इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ इंडिया ने बिल एंड मेलिंडा गेट्स फाउंडेशन के साथ मिलकर किया है। इस टीके का नाम न्यूमोसिल है। भारत के पास निमोनिया के टीकों की पहुंच है। लेकिन  नया स्थानीय रूप से विकसित नया वैक्सीन अन्य निमोनिया टीके जैसे Pfizer के NYSE: PFE, GlaxoSmithKline के LSE: GSK टीकों से काफी सस्ता है। इन दो टीकों का उपयोग वर्तमान में भारत में निमोनिया के खिलाफ टीकाकरण के लिए किया जाता है। इस नए टीके का उपयोग “स्ट्रेप्टोकोकस न्यूमोनिया” (Streptococcus Pneumonia) के कारण होने वाले निमोनिया के खिलाफ टीकाकरण के लिए किया जायेगा। इस वैक्सीन के नैदानिक ​​परीक्षण, सभी तीन चरणों, भारत और गाम्बिया (एक अफ्रीकी राष्ट्र) में आयोजित किए गए थे। यूनिसेफ के अनुसार, हर साल पांच साल से कम उम्र के एक लाख से अधिक बच्चे न्यूमोकोकल बीमारी के कारण मर जाते हैं। न्यूमोकोकल कंजुगेट वैक्सीन (Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine) न्यूमोकोकल कंजुगेट वैक्सीन वर्तमान में भारत के सार्वभौमिक टीकाकरण कार्यक्रम क...

 केंद्र सरकार और किसान संगठनों के बीच 30 दिसम्बर को बैठक आयोजित की जायेगी। इस बैठक में न्यूनतम समर्थन मूल्य, वायु गुणवत्ता से जुड़े कानूनों और बिजली पर चर्चा की जायेगी। इससे पहले, इस सम्बन्ध में कृषि मंत्रालय ने किसान संगठनों को एक पत्र लिखा था, जिसमे बातचीत के माध्यम से विवाद को हल करने का ज़िक्र किया गया था। गौरतलब है अब तक  अभी तक कोई समाधान प्राप्त नही हुआ है। इससे पहले, केंद्र सरकार  ने प्रस्ताव दिया था कि वह कृषि कानूनों में संशोधन करेगी। इस प्रस्ताव का विरोध करते हुए किसान संगठनों ने 6वें दौर की बैठक में भाग लेने से इनकार कर दिया था। किसान विरोध क्यों कर रहे हैं? भारत सरकार द्वारा पारित किये तीन कृषि सुधार विधेयकों के खिलाफ किसान विरोध प्रदर्शन कर रहे हैं। इन कानूनों को सितंबर 2020 में लागू किया गया था। इस कानूनों ने कृषि उत्पादों की बिक्री, मूल्य निर्धारण और भंडारण के नियमों में थोड़ी ढील दी है। इन कानूनों से असहमति के कारण किसानों ने एक शांतिपूर्ण विरोध शुरू किया, इस आन्दोलन को ‘दिल्ली चलो’ नाम दिया है। इस विरोध प्रदर्शन का नेतृत्व अधिकांश पंजाबी और सिख किसान कर रहे...

The Honours award are used to recognise merit in terms of achievement and service.  The   three-time Grand Slam champion   was named in the   Queen's New   Years Honours in 2016 , following his second Wimbledon win and second Olympic gold.   Sir Andy revealed in January that he planned to retire after this year's Wimbledon, forcing back tears as he told reporters at the Australian Open that his hip injury was going to bring a premature end to his glittering career. Sony and Microsoft   have announced a partnership   to build future cloud solutions   supporting both gaming and content streaming alongside   AI solutions.   PlayStation maker Sony   will use Xbox maker Microsoft 's data centres and Azure cloud computing service for its existing game and streaming platforms. In return, Microsoft will gain access to Sony's image sensors The partnership comes as   Google works   to disrupt the video game world with a   Stadia platform   that will let players stream blockbuster titles to any device they wish. The Stadia platform will open to gamers later this year in the United States, Canada, Britain and other parts of Europe.   Google is focused on working with   game makers to tailor titles   for play on Stadia. ISRO Chairman Dr. K. Sivan   inaugurated   Yuvika (Yuva VIgyani KAryakram) 2019 , ISRO's Young Scientist Programme, at   Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR , Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.  As many as 110 teenagers are participating in the YUVIKA 2019. It is a two-week summer vacation residential training program which will be conducted by ISRO from 13 May to 26 May 2019.   They are the first batch of young scientists of   Yuvika (Yuva Vigyani Karyakram)   that the   Indian Space Research Organisation   plans to hold every year. The chosen Class 9 students will spend the time visiting four centers of ISRO.   It was launched by ISRO in tune with the Centre governments vision of   Jai Vigyan, Jai Anusandhan.   This is the first time it is being held. Scientists from Stanford University,   Shanhui Fan   along with Masashi Ono have demonstrated for the first time that it is possible to produce a measurable amount of electricity in an infrared photodiode from the coldness of the universe.The infrared semiconductor uses the temperature difference between Space and Earth to produce the electricity.   The study was published in a journal named  Applied Physics Letters.   The new device has generated about 64 nano watts per square meter.   According to the theoretical calculations, the device can generate almost 4 watts per square meter, roughly one million times what practically generated.   In the new technology, the negative illumination effect allows electrical energy to be harvested as heat leaves a surface.

An asteroid 200 feet   wide just plowed into a simulated   New York City , sent there by NASA as part of an exercise to study what might happen if astronomers found   a giant space rock heading toward Earth.   NASA scientists have revealed the outcomes of its asteroid impact drill where they simulated an asteroid heading towards Denver, US. The world's space powers collaborated to hit and deflect the 180-meter-wide asteroid. However, a 60-metre chunk broke off and hit New York City at 69,000 kmph destroying everything in a 15-km radius as political disagreements failed in nuking the rock.   If the collision had been real, the city would have been hit with a force 1,000 times more powerful than the nuclear bomb dropped on Hiroshima, leveling buildings from Central Park to lower Manhattan and causing up to 1.3 million deaths.

11 May 2019 Current Affairs:   Reliance Communications (RCom)   on 8th May informed the stock exchanges that the administration of the corporate debtor would be taken over by the   interim resolution professional (RP)   and the   corporate insolvency resolution process (CIRP)   would resume, following the   National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT)   directive.    The National Company Law Tribunal allowed a consortium   of 31 banks , led by SBI, to form a   committee of creditors.   As per the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, the resolution process has to be completed within 270 days.

11 May 2019 Current Affairs:   Taiwan   plans to   strengthen ties   with   India’s new government, including more official visits despite   China’s continuing efforts to isolate   what it considers to be a wayward province.   After India’s general election results on May 23, the two countries will strengthen trade and cultural ties.  The centre in the Indian capital operates as a de facto embassy, helping Indian and   Taiwanese companies   to expand business ties and easing discreet dialogue between government officials.   Taiwan has opened   four trade offices   in India in the last few years and two-way trade has risen more than six-fold since 2000 to stand at more than $7 billion in 2018.

10 May 2019 Current Affairs: The   Election Commission   on 8th May ordered re-polling in 168 booths of West Tripura parliamentary constituency.   Tripura is the highest   for any Lok Sabha constituency in the ongoing elections.    The commission declared the voting held at these polling stations void based on reports submitted by the chief electoral officer, special observer and the returning officer. The re-polling is scheduled for May 12.

10 May 2019 Current Affairs:   India   and   China   signed a protocol for the export of Indian chilli meal to China. This is the fourth protocol signed between the two nations over the past year allowing the export of farm commodities from India.   They agreed to resolve market access issues expeditiously in order to achieve the vision of the leaders of both India and China by promoting a more balanced trade. At the end of the meeting, a protocol was signed for export of chilli meal from India to China.   The protocols for export, signed since June 2018, include those for basmati and non-basmati rice, fish meal and oil and tobacco leaves.

10 May 2019 Current Affairs: India’s first Fintech (Financial technology) start-up enabling payments via interoperable UPI(Unified Payments Interface) QR (Quick Response) codes,  BharatPe notified its venture into merchant services by launching a new app UPI Bahi Khata that allows merchants to keep a track of  their cash/credit (Udhar) sales customer wise, to request the accounts receivable from customers through SMS (Short Message Service) payment links or through WhatsApp and to record accounts that are payable to suppliers.   The newly launched app also helps the merchants to network and collaborate with other BharatQR merchants near them to expand their businesses.   The major features on BharatPe app for merchants are: UPI Khata (Ledger), Managing Supplier Bills, Cashback, Settlements and Refer and Earn.
