ISRO Chairman Dr. K. Sivan inaugurated Yuvika (Yuva VIgyani KAryakram) 2019 , ISRO's Young Scientist Programme, at Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR , Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. As many as 110 teenagers are participating in the YUVIKA 2019. It is a two-week summer vacation residential training program which will be conducted by ISRO from 13 May to 26 May 2019. They are the first batch of young scientists of Yuvika (Yuva Vigyani Karyakram) that the Indian Space Research Organisation plans to hold every year. The chosen Class 9 students will spend the time visiting four centers of ISRO. It was launched by ISRO in tune with the Centre governments vision of Jai Vigyan, Jai Anusandhan. This is the first time it is being held.
